DUK member Jorge Crecis is looking for dancers for ‘Through & Out’. The work will explore the crossovers between rope-skipping and dance. ‘Through & Out’ will also be re-created with a large number of performers from the local community, commissioned by GDA for Big Dance South East London. To view a short clip outlining the project, please see: https://vimeo/75195081. To know more about Jorge and his work see: https://vimeo/user9087754/videos The project requires: • 3 dancers, and 1 circus artist who is extremely skilful at skipping. This is for the creation of the work (3 weeks in May-June, dates TBC) and for the Big Dance re-creation (July 2014). Potential autumn/winter tour dates too. • 2-4 dancers to act as facilitators and additional performers for the re-creation phase of the work (Big Dance, July 2014). This is a large-scale educational/participatory project so teaching/leading experience is essential. Must have a valid CRB or DBS. Both male and female performers are invited to apply. Performers should be physically powerful, minimum age 22 with at least 2 year of professional experience. Experience of skipping is desirable but not essential, but a willingness to learn this new skill is vital. Please be aware that this project will involve a lot of jumping! The audition is by invitation only and will be held in London on the 26th and 27th of April. To apply, please download and complete the Application Form: https://dropbox/s/92f5us8dpn78wdc/Application%20form-Through%26Out.docx and send it to [email protected]. Please include a link to a video of you dancing (in performance or rehearsal) and, if possible, another video of you rope-skipping (this is not essential but would be very welcome). Please do not send CVs or video files via email. Application deadline: 14th April. Successful applicants will receive an invitation to the audition (with further details regarding fees and dates) by the 20th April. From previous experiences, we are aware that the potential number of applicants will not allow us to answer everyone individually – we apologise if you don’t hear from us.
