DUMP DAYDREAMING "It shall even be as when a hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty...."(Isaiah 29:8) I once heard a funny story. A happy-go-lucky young man inherited an exquisite set of glassware from a dead aunt. Sitting on a chair, the expensive but delicate items set before him, he went into a reverie: “Now here comes my wealth! I shall sell these for a fortune and buy more merchandise. With my good marketing skills I shall sell those for one thousand pounds. My thousand pounds turned over and over shall soon see me counting millions. Do you remember the story of the young rich ruler in Luke: And he said, this will I do: I will pull down my barns and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods… He continued boasting like that until God said, it is enough. Do you as a boy or girl reckon with God in your ambitions? Remember, God owns your life and everything you possess. Take heed to this advice from Christ: seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you.The fool shot out one of his legs. The crash of his precious glassware cured his daydream and brought him back to earth. But alas, it was too late; all he had now were mere shards of glass. Challenge: Be true to yourself.
