DUO GETS JAIL TERM FOR ESCAPING FROM CUSTODY Principal Magistrate Jannet Phosa of Kanye has sentenced two men to 12 months imprisonment for escaping from prison while awaiting trial for various offences. The two; Daniel Seitiiso (27) of Kanye and Kgotso Kgaudi (22) of Molapowabojang together with two others; Mmusi Motsoko (33) of Kanye and Mooketsi Ramonwana (28) of Mabutsane escaped from Kanye Prison on August 30. Kgaudi and Kgaudi were recaptured near Sekutlhane in the Southern District few weeks after their escape. According to court records, Seitiso was a repeat offender facing two murder charges. He had been remanded on May 19 this year for the murder of his girlfriend in Kanye. At the time of the offence, the unemployed Seitiso had been on bail for another murder that he committed in Kang. Ramonwana is facing charges of rape and stock theft, Kgaudi for bar breaking and theft while Motsoko is facing charges of house breaking and theft. The four are alleged to have carefully hatched their escape plan which they executed at 11 a.m under the unsuspecting noses of prison jail. (BOPA)
