DWIGHT YORKE SAYING THAT DAVID MOYES AND SOME PLAYERS ARE ENTIRELY - TopicsExpress

DWIGHT YORKE SAYING THAT DAVID MOYES AND SOME PLAYERS ARE ENTIRELY TO BLAME FOR UNITEDS CURRENT PERFORMANCE, AND HE POITS OUT RVP AS ONE OF THE PLAYERS Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke currently does some work as an ambassador for the club as well as his media roles. This work saw him able to spend time with Voetbal International recently and theres a lengthy interview with him in this weeks edition of the excellent Dutch magazine. Whilst Voetbal International were happy to talk about Manchester Uniteds connections with the Netherlands through former players and the clubs popularity worldwide, they of course asked Yorke what he thinks is going on at Old Trafford this season. Yorke was speaking before the Manchester City game but was clear in his thoughts that things just arent working. We are experiencing a rather poor season. A horrible season, rather. And only David Moyes and the players are responsible. No one else is to blame for the way the team plays or how the manager motivates his players. Something up to now has obviously not succeeded. I think the team has enough good players to once again play for the title and seriously participate in the cups. But a lot of guys arent doing it, Robin van Persie for example. In terms of talent he belongs to the five best strikers in the world. Unfortunately, he has not reached his level of last season by a long shot. What is wrong, exactly, is hard to say. There is a lot at stake. Manchester United is more than just football. It is also image, commerce. Large companies like Aon have plenty invested and want to see something back. Its not just investors who will be concerned with the way the club is going. Yorke was on official club duty as an ambassador, with sponsors around him, which may give a clue to why he was concerned about the commercial side. Given the event and Yorkes role its a slight surprise that he was so honest but those associated with the club would now be struggling to paint a rosy picture without sounding ridiculous.
