Dad had a peaceful night, no change until about 3:30 a.m. when he opened his eyes, pulled the CPAP off so he could say, I feel great, back to normal...when can I go home? He smiled, I did oral cares and he coughed some big coughs for me, and repositioned himself. He continues to have pain from his back surgery a week ago, but he has not had any pain meds since yesterday morning and he wants to remain off all pain medication. I read him everyones comments, texts, and messages- he was overwhelmed with disbelief with how many there were, and it made his morning. He doesnt remember yesterday at all and asked me to tell him about it. He described the ladder and the angels waiting to take him and how he felt like he was being lifted out of his body to get to the ladder but felt me pulling his hand back. He described it in detail, and it is exactly what he was trying to tell me when it was happening as well. Gives me goosebumps. He is sleeping now. I am hopeful he can try to wean off CPAP while he is awake, we will see. Thanks again for continued prayers as he recovers. Enjoy your weekend :)
