Dad had a slight set back. His heart rate was a bit too fast so they gave him anxiety and pain medicine and that helped. They raised the vent 5% from 45 to 50. Thats not too bad at the moment. Theyre going to give him another med for the heart rate. He is responsive now that hes gotten a bit of rest and has been off of the anesthesia and pain meds. So sometimes hes awake and alert. He can only move his head but he will nod or shake his head when we ask him questions. And he gave the nurse a little smile which brightened my day!!! He has a big spot on his leg that may end up bursting. If it does, it will take weeks and weeks to heal. They are having a nurse that specializes in bed sores coming to look at him because hes developed quite a few. And theyre also going to look at the sores on his forehead. Those sores are from being face down in Portsmouth because they didnt have the rotating bed. They had his face resting on a hard plastic thing and it created several sores on his forehead. The swelling in his face and neck has gone down a lot! His face looks so much better!!! He looks like himself again through the face and shoulders. Although it looks like he lost a fight with his his forehead all beat up....lol...poor guy! So although hes still very critical, were happy with his progress!
