Dad weeps after watching the Presidents address to the United Nations, saying yes, we can get these things done, well get these things done. Despite his severe dementia he was completely absorbed by everything the president said, reacting and commenting with approval, saying Oh my God. Yes. Oh, my God, Yes! after each point. His years and years as a reporter and journalist working in the Middle East, interviewing Presidents from many nations, visiting the UN for Newsweek and the New York Times, championing Civil Rights with the Chicago Daily News, exposing corruption and fighting for a happier world are still within him, so this speech pulled out all those core beliefs. He was deeply connected and deeply hopeful. Now as he heads to the shower he feels energized and excited to take his daily walk with his caring nursing aid, Tasia. Thank you Mr.. President, for these Awakenings that you inspired that peeled back layers of Alzheimers induced fog and brought out the true John Culhane.
