Dads daily when we were little trouble seemed to find Kris and I. Dad used to use a smudge pot to keep the bugs out of the garage when he was working on something out out there. We seemed to have an affection for fire, dad left the smudge pot out as well as matches so we thought we would try it like Dad did. We filled the smudge pot grabbed the matches lit it off with flames four to five feet high. scared out or minds one of us kicked the pot and next thing you know the garage is on fire. The only thing that saved us was a life long friend to be that came out of nowhere Harold Unley, A Rapid city policeman that lived across the street from us. He saved the garage our bacon and didn`t save us being punished. Dad didn`t keep the matches in the garage anymore. after this incident I had a great respect for fire. Dad was really mad.
