Dahong Palay is a Filipino band considered as the country’s “Kings of Dark Metal”. The band was founded and managed by Ramon The Doctor Zialcita of LA.105 during the reign of the 80s metal era. Dahongpalay released compilation albums under Tone Def and released a Debut Album KAPATIRAN NG BAKAL AT APOY under Ivory records. --Dahong Palays major influences-- Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, DIO, Black Label Society, Badlands, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Helloween, Hammerfall, Blind Guardian, Dokken, Sacred Reich, Loudness, Slayer, Pantera With the over exposure of Rap and New Metal in the airwaves nowadays, Dahong Palay listens to a few of them like Disturbed, Soil,Godsmack, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Mushroomhead, and Papa Roach. For them, these bands have tons of balls compared to other so-called new school bands EURD DELA HOSTRIA – Bass / Lead Vocals, The Keeper/Guardian of The Sacred Black Scrolls,known as the “Black Pope” in Manila’s Metal / Underground Scene.The Main-man behind Dahong Palay’s songs, arrangements and demonically melodic lethal bass lines.The only remaining original member of Dahong Palay. By the way, for Dahong Palay, they don’t believe in New School Old School Shit. For them Rock is Rock, Metal is Metal, Rap is Rap, Kundiman is Kundiman, Shit is Shit.If you play good you’re good, if you play crappy you’re crappy. Play and do what you want to do.
