Daily Affirmation: Habit #1: Be Kind to Yourself The first of the habits we’re going to reinforce is often categorized as ‘easier said than done’. Being kind to ourselves is not a natural part of the psyche, especially one of a perfectionist. After all, no human being can be absolutely perfect. Just for today, when you slip into self-blame, or self-criticism, stop the thought. Take three deep, nourishing breaths. And think of something else: the sunshine, the breeze on your face; a moment of laughter shared with your loved one. Quotation for the Day Self-care means honoring and respecting the miraculous being that you are. Self-care means learning to listen with the ear of a dedicated mother to your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and then taking full responsibility for getting them met.
