Daily Announcements December 18, 2014 Lunch Today: Chicken Sandwich, Hot Cheese Sandwich, Salad & Fruit Bar, Milk Lunch Tomorrow: Enjoy your Winter Break! See you on January 5! Salad & Fruit Bar offers fresh green salad fixings, four fruits and four vegetables daily. Students must select ½ cup of fruit or vegetables with their hot lunch. USDA and this institution are equal opportunity providers and employers We will have EARLY RELEASE TODAY at 1:25 pm Enjoy your Winter Break! Classes resume on January 5, 2015 7/8 Graders who returned signed progress report slips get an extra 20 minute recess at the end of regular lunch recess TODAY! Those students who did not turn in signed progress report slips (see attached list) will not receive an extra recess. Those who don’t qualify will go to 4th period as follows: 7th graders will report to Mr. Asay’s room and 8th graders will report to Miss McKay’s room. 7/8 Graders – NO HALL USE DURING LUNCH RECESS! o Please take your coat or sweatshirt when you leave the building for lunch, instead of coming back for it after you’ve eaten. o Take your volleyball, basketball, etc. with you as well. There is a place in the cafeteria to store your things while you eat. o If you eat a cold lunch, you may store your lunch bag in the commons after lunch; you do not need to visit your locker. o If you brush your teeth after eating, bring your toothbrush to lunch and use the cafeteria restroom o If you need to use the restroom, use the one in the cafeteria, or the gym restroom if we are having indoor recess. Good News Club members need to meet in the breezeway at 11:10 today. Don’t go to the cafeteria. Builders Club meeting today ONLY for those who ordered Subway Sandwiches. Please wait for advisor to arrive before entering the building. 7/8 Girls’ Basketball practice will begin on Monday, January 5, 3:45 – 5:30 in the HLMS gym, coached by Boe Pickett. ALL paperwork must be turned in at the office prior to participation in practice. Be sure to bring appropriate athletic-wear for practice. There is a $35 pay to play fee, payable by the first game. Library Reminder! 7/8 students will have library today instead of Friday this week, so those who normally go in the afternoon will not get library due to our early dismissal. Make sure you get there on your own if you need something to read during your Christmas Break! MISSING LIBRARY BOOKS! The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer, and Bone #4: Dragonslayer. Please see Mrs. Freitag if you have seen these books! Lost & Found on the tables in the commons. Unclaimed clothing is available for anyone to take home TODAY. NO CELL PHONES, iPODs, CAMERAS OR ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICE IS PERMITTED DURING SCHOOL HOURS!! All devices must be turned OFF and put in your BACKPACK (5/6 graders) or your LOCKER (7/8 graders) for the duration of the school day. NO EXCEPTIONS. If a staff member can SEE or HEAR your electronic device, you are not following the rule. 5th & 6th Grade Bandon Youth Basketball sign up sheets are available at the office window. There is a $65 participation fee. Completed forms and fee are due at the office TODAY. For further information, please call Daniel Senn at 541-404-1889. This is not a school-sponsored activity. Bandon Community Youth Center Program Registration for workshops to begin in January, this week TONIGHT, 5-7pm at BCYC. These include cooking with a chef, basic theatre skills, comedy & improv, model airplane building, self-defense, knitting, and more. 101 SW 11th Street across the street from Ocean Crest Elementary. Questions? Call 541-347-8336 -- all messages will be returned. One-time annual fee of $10 and no charge for individual workshops ranging from one to 6 sessions. Limited to 15 students each. Come by and see our remodeling currently underway! This is not a school-sponsored activity. The Good News Club, sponsored by Christian Evangelism Fellowship of Coos County, is available to middle school students. Students leave campus for one hour (during lunchtime) on Thursdays to attend sessions at Bandon Christian Fellowship, October through April. Some class time may also be missed. Interested students should pick up a flyer at the office window. This is not a school-sponsored activity. Calendar is subject to change without notice. Please check back frequently.
