Daily Bible 14 06 Mon Oct Between Crisis and Blessing [ Genesis 26:1 - 26:16 ] (Hymm546) Due to the famine at Gerar and his own mistake, Isaac faces a crisis in his life. Nevertheless, just as God had done with Abraham, He changes Isaac’s crisis into a blessing. 위기와 축복 사이에서 이삭은 그랄 땅에 닥친 기근과 자신의 실수 때문에 인생의 위기를 맞습니다. 하지만 하나님은 아브라함에게 하셨던 것처럼 이삭의 위기를 축복으로 바꿔주십니다. Summing up 1Now there was a famine in the land, besides the former famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Gerar to Abimelech king of the Philistines. 2And the LORD appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the land of which I shall tell you. 3Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and will bless you, for to you and to your offspring I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father. 4I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, 5because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.” 6So Isaac settled in Gerar. 7When the men of the place asked him about his wife, he said, “She is my sister,” for he feared to say, “My wife,” thinking, “lest the men of the place should kill me because of Rebekah,” because she was attractive in appearance. 8When he had been there a long time, Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out of a window and saw Isaac laughing with Rebekah his wife. 9So Abimelech called Isaac and said, “Behold, she is your wife. How then could you say, ‘She is my sister’?” Isaac said to him, “Because I thought, ‘Lest I die because of her.’” 10Abimelech said, “What is this you have done to us? One of the people might easily have lain with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us.” 11So Abimelech warned all the people, saying, “Whoever touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.” 12And Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. The LORD blessed him, 13and the man became rich, and gained more and more until he became very wealthy. 14He had possessions of flocks and herds and many servants, so that the Philistines envied him. 15(Now the Philistines had stopped and filled with earth all the wells that his father’s servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father.) 16And Abimelech said to Isaac, “Go away from us, for you are much mightier than we.” 1아브라함 때에 첫 흉년이 들었더니 그 땅에 또 흉년이 들매 이삭이 그랄로 가서 블레셋 왕 아비멜렉에게 이르렀더니 2여호와께서 이삭에게 나타나 이르시되 애굽으로 내려가지 말고 내가 네게 지시하는 땅에 거주하라 3이 땅에 거류하면 내가 너와 함께 있어 네게 복을 주고 내가 이 모든 땅을 너와 네 자손에게 주리라 내가 네 아버지 아브라함에게 맹세한 것을 이루어 4네 자손을 하늘의 별과 같이 번성하게 하며 이 모든 땅을 네 자손에게 주리니 네 자손으로 말미암아 천하 만민이 복을 받으리라 5이는 아브라함이 내 말을 순종하고 내 명령과 내 계명과 내 율례와 내 법도를 지켰음이라 하시니라 6이삭이 그랄에 거주하였더니 7그 곳 사람들이 그의 아내에 대하여 물으매 그가 말하기를 그는 내 누이라 하였으니 리브가는 보기에 아리따우므로 그 곳 백성이 리브가로 말미암아 자기를 죽일까 하여 그는 내 아내라 하기를 두려워함이었더라 8이삭이 거기 오래 거주하였더니 이삭이 그 아내 리브가를 껴안은 것을 블레셋 왕 아비멜렉이 창으로 내다본지라 9이에 아비멜렉이 이삭을 불러 이르되 그가 분명히 네 아내거늘 어찌 네 누이라 하였느냐 이삭이 그에게 대답하되 내 생각에 그로 말미암아 내가 죽게 될까 두려워하였음이로라 10아비멜렉이 이르되 네가 어찌 우리에게 이렇게 행하였느냐 백성 중 하나가 네 아내와 동침할 뻔하였도다 네가 죄를 우리에게 입혔으리라 11아비멜렉이 이에 모든 백성에게 명하여 이르되 이 사람이나 그의 아내를 범하는 자는 죽이리라 하였더라 12이삭이 그 땅에서 농사하여 그 해에 백 배나 얻었고 여호와께서 복을 주시므로 13그 사람이 창대하고 왕성하여 마침내 거부가 되어 14양과 소가 떼를 이루고 종이 심히 많으므로 블레셋 사람이 그를 시기하여 15그 아버지 아브라함 때에 그 아버지의 종들이 판 모든 우물을 막고 흙으로 메웠더라 16아비멜렉이 이삭에게 이르되 네가 우리보다 크게 강성한즉 우리를 떠나라 Who is God like? Thinking & Understanding Who is God? Vv. 2-5 To Isaac, who was planning to flee to Egypt from the famine, God commanded him not to go. He then repeats the promises regarding the land and the offspring He had made with Abraham. How would we respond to God’s command to stay in the place where difficulties kept hitting us? How would we respond to have faith in God’s promises that cannot be seen? 하나님은 기근을 피해 이집트로 내려가려는 이삭에게 가지 말라고 명령하십니다. 그리고 아브라함에게 하셨던 땅과 자손의 약속을 다시 한 번 들려주십니다. 당장 손에 잡히지 않는 약속만 믿고, 계속 이 어려움의 자리에 있으라는 명령에, 우리는 어떻게 반응합니까? Thinking & Understanding When a famine hit Canaan, Isaac tried to go down to Egypt as Abraham had done. However, God repeated the covenant He had made with Abraham and commanded Isaac to stay in Gerar (vv. 1-6). When Isaac was in Gerar, the people asked him about his wife Rebekah. And just like his father, Isaac lied and said that Rebekah was his sister. Isaac’s lie was soon discovered by Abimelech, king of the Philistines. But God protected Isaac and Rebekah from Abimelech (vv. 7-11). As such, because the blessing of God did not leave Isaac, Isaac became very rich. Because of this situation, Isaac was envied by many and was expelled from Gerar (vv. 12-16). 가나안에 기근이 들자, 이삭은 아브라함처럼 이집트로 내려가려 했습니다. 하지만 하나님은 이삭에게 아브라함과 세운 언약을 반복하시며 그랄 땅에 머물라고 명령하셨습니다(1-6절). 그랄에 머물던 이삭은 사람들이 아내 리브가에 관해서 묻자, 아브라함처럼 리브가가 누이라고 거짓말을 했습니다. 이삭의 거짓말은 곧 블레셋 왕 아비멜렉에게 들통 났지만, 하나님은 오히려 아비멜렉으로 이삭과 리브가를 보호하게 하셨습니다(7-11절). 이처럼 하나님의 복이 이삭을 떠나지 않자 이삭은 큰 부자가 되었습니다. 하지만 이 때문에 이삭은 사람들의 시기를 받고, 그랄 땅에서 쫓겨났습니다(12-16절). What lesson is God teaching me? Vv. 8-11 Abimelech coincidently found out that Isaac and Rebekah were married. He rebukes Isaac and ensures the people not to lay with Rebekah. God protects His people even through coincidences or Gentile kings. ‘우연히’ 이삭과 리브가가 부부임을 알게 된 아비멜렉은 이삭을 책망하고, 백성들에게는 리브가를 범하지 말라고 명령합니다. 하나님은 ‘우연’이나, 이방 왕을 통해서도 자기 백성을 보호하십니다. Prayer Help us not to be conceited in today’s obedience, and help us not to despair in today’s failures.
