Daily Blog, Entry #4 Seabourn Sojourn Northern Europe Cruise Baltic Sea 8/11/13–8/25/13 Day 3, Tuesday 8/13 — Just a little potty talk, and I won’t take pictures, so you’ll just have to imagine. The bathrooms: first there are no shower doors on the tub just a little glass panel to keep the spray from hitting the john. The tub is very deep and nice for the soaking I did last night. Of course, they have endless hot water that also heats the towel rack. Nice hot towels! What I didn’t know until I walked in this morning was that the marble tile floor was also heated. Double nice! Next comes the commode itself. It is equipped to handle little flushes and big flushes (or half flushes and full flushes) if you get my drift. The bathroom is also equipped with a magnifying mirror, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. The Danes are so funny with all their minimalist contemporary styling. That usually means that the push buttons and levers are hidden someplace to not mess up aesthetics. And, of course, that poses a challenge to some of us simple-minded people. Sometimes smart-looking décor exceeds functionality. Take, for instance, the night light above my side of the bed. It’s a simple pin light that sticks out of the wall. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out where to turn it on. Finally out of frustration Chris woke up and said, “Have you tried that on/off switch right next to you on the side of the bedstand?” Jeez. I felt like such a ninny. I was so sure there was some clever thingy I didn’t even consider the logical. The other thing I noticed was that, in general, Danes are big people, big blonde people, big blonde beautiful people. And they are very friendly and helpful, too. Right now I’m waiting for Chris to get up and around. We embark this afternoon. But first we are going to walk and do a little sight-seeing.
