Daily Comic Book Force Update: In this update, I will be continuing what I have been doing for the past two days, which would be informing you lovely people on what we know about Guardians of the Galaxy 2. One more thing we know is that there will definitely be more on Yondu. He is very intricately woven into the story of Star-Lords father (who we know will be talked more about and maybe even shown in the sequel) and Michael Rooker, the actor of the character, is one of the 4 people who know the identity of Star-Lords dad in the film universe. In the comics, Yondu is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy from an alternate universe and this could be brought over to the films, with him eventually joining the Guardians and having Star-Lord mentoring him instead of him mentoring the former. We also know that Nebula will more than likely appear in the sequel. James Gunn has said that he feels that she is a very important character and will probably be appearing again. In the first film, Nebula is shown fleeing Xandar on a Nova Corps ship and this could mean that she is still somewhere out in the cosmos, planning her revenge. Nebula could also be used to showcase more of Thanos (especially since she is his adopted daughter) and her relationship with Gamora might be further elaborated on. Kevin Feige himself stated that Nebula is important and also reiterated that in the comics, Nebula plays a central role in many different comics (not just space-based ones). We most likely wont see her in Avengers: Age of Ultron (unless she pops up in the end-credits scenes) or Ant-Man but she could factor into Doctor Strange, where she could be a catalyst for Doctor Stranges adventures into different dimensions. There is also one thing to take note. It is that both Nebula and the Sorcerer Supreme are big players in the Infinity Gauntlet story line and might be playing similar roles in the film. Leaves us with some things to ponder about. We will definitely be seeing more of Thanos. Kevin Feige said that introducing Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy was to establish him as a character along the lines of Emperor Palpatine from the Star Wars films. This film really places a lot of emphasis on the Infinity Stones and we know that Thanos is gunning to get them all to form the Infinity Gauntlet so he can kick some Avenger @$$. He will have to grab the Stones fast though since right now he has 0 of them (the Mind Gem is with Baron von Strucker, the Power Gem is with the Nova Corps, the Space Gem is on Asgard and the Reality Gem is with the Collector) and there is only 4 more years until Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 comes out. Like I said earlier on my paragraph about Nebula, having Thanos in the film allows us to see his relationship with his adopted daughter, which might be showing us some interesting family politics.
