Daily Desires The fragility of human comfort and worries Swings us back and forth- like a pendulum. Tired by unrewarding struggle to hold on To a desired angle, We solicit for a lukewarm mid-point; as if to endorse the principle of demand And supply, to be a gravitating absolute phenomenon. Ironically, we soon realize that a lukewarm position is wanting of value, purpose and proper utility; So we make efforts to lean Toward the desired angle, However, so promptly do we perceive that the pendulum begins its Normal swinging- and the cycle presumes Once more. It is value, meaning, purpose or proper utility That seems to capture the essence of mans efforts To furnish his own estimated longevity. So we are wrestling restlessly into the endless Tunnel of future, to perceive in it More substantial value (or of other measures); Such is the power of imagination or daydream, To push us farther on with extra energy, Toward the desired angle. But experience is ready, at all times, To bring us heartbreaking news, That the ultimate result could be contrary To the romantically nurtured expectation. So we are struck by fear, sorrow and despair; Or hope, joy and courage When the converse seems to be the case. And so each day, when the estimated longevity of that Which we believe to be of sacred Value (or other measures), Is threaten, such as of a little human baby, or a certain tree, We are overwhelmed with sobering tears of loss. But promptly, the pendulum actuates itself, And like a little human baby, we are consoled Into the allurement that the Miraculous hand of some divine providence Will gravitate toward and strike The desired angle- so we find reasons to smile; Albeit with tears still rolling down our temples. In such highly uncertain state of circumstances, We all of a sudden become either religious, poets Or philosophers. Value, meaning, purpose, proper utility, Together with their estimated longevity, These are the driving forces, when their supply Satisfactorily meets demand, Man becomes a sane satisfied saint; And when the opposite is the case, Man becomes but a complete opposite- unmanly, A beast with physical semblance of a man. So, in the intervention of each day, We attach some estimated value (or other measures) To substantiate our little efforts, friendships, business, Hypothesis or even family. So too do we ultimately come to term with the fundamental fact That our own individual existence is a specimen Of daily Value-assessment (or other measures). We dare to avoid what engenders despair and other Unproductive sentiments. Nothing seems left unmarked with the essential-Value-assessment Or other measures; Even solitude cannot escape the over-reaching hand Of substances determination. Everything is conditioned to either have value, meaning, Purpose and proper utility- with their estimated longevity; Or its existence or practice is undesirable. Is it of wonder that the average person goes on, On daily basis, uttering his dream stuff? She is searching for or inserting value, meaning, Purpose and proper utility, into the choicest objects of consideration. Desires are but mere re-direction of what is/are In demand. Ultimately, the master being served is none other than Human comfort- and what jeopardizes it actuates Worry and the latters angels. And when all seems to fail in the present, Physical life, the sweet fantasies of extra But eternal spiritual existence, Which mightily defies the challenges of mortal being, Perfectly fit the vacuum. In the end, it all boils down to ungodly premise that: Man is a phenomenon essentially characterized by daily desires. KMG.
