Daily Devotion: Hope Beyond the Grave Our life here on earth appears as a vapor and then disappears. Our body is on a funeral march to the grave. Its a difficult reality for us humans to grasp. We avoid death as much as possible, for we are all about life and living. Genesis 3:19 reminds us that we are Gods creations, only temporary on this earth, our bodies eventually returning to the dust from which we were created. Its not great news, and yet, God does not leave us there. We have hope through Gods mercy and grace. Because Jesus conquered death, those who belong to Him will conquer death also. In the short time we have on earth, we should be enthusiastic and grateful for what Jesus did for us at Calvary. The cross provides the only way to eternal life.
