Daily Devotion by Raul Ries MONDAY December 15, 2014 Trust God’s Faithfulness Now when the words which David spoke were heard, they reported them to Saul; and he sent for him. Then David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:31-32 While the men of Saul’s army were putting David down for his actions against Goliath, word got back to Saul and he called for David. When David went to Saul, he assured the king, “I am not afraid; the Lord is on my side; I will fight against that little, puny giant.” There is no fear when you have the Lord. If the Lord is with you, who can defeat you? No one can overcome the Lord—no one. David was going to go out by faith! He did not know how he was going to win, but he was leaving the victory in God’s hands. He knew he was fighting in the Lord’s army, so he did not have to fear the giant. God had protected him when he faced the lion and the bear. Goliath was no problem for the Lord. We have to be like David and step out in faith. We will never know what amazing things God wants to do in our lives, if we never give Him the chance to show us His plan for our lives. When you look back on your life, you will see the faithfulness of the Lord. You will see the many times God protected and provided for you. When you see the faithfulness of God, it makes it easier to step out in faith. He will never let you down. Divine faithfulness is a wonderful comfort to those who are loyal. ~William Hendriksen~
