Daily Devotion by Raul Ries WEDNESDAY November 12, 2014 Chaos & Confusion “Then invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do; you shall anoint for Methe one I name to you.” 1 Samuel 16:3 What was God’s plan to anoint a new king without Saul killing Samuel? God told Samuel to prepare a sacrifice, plan a party and invite the house of Jesse. When they all came for the party, God would point out His chosen king to Samuel. Look at how simple God worked the whole thing out. Samuel was not going to go out wandering around the country, looking for a king. God was taking him straight to the house of Jesse. Saul did not even know what Samuel was doing. If Samuel had tried to plan it without God, it would have been chaotic. He would have wandered around without God’s direction and Saul would have questioned what he was doing. Instead, God took care of the whole thing and Saul had no idea what was going to happen. When we do not allow God to make the plans for our lives, our ministries or for our businesses, we have chaos. Without God leading and guiding, there is no way we can do things according to His plan. Then we are working according to our plan and our wisdom. Remember, our wisdom is foolish to the Lord. Without the Lord, we have no wisdom; we have only chaos and confusion. If you want God’s blessings in your life, you have to allow Him to guide and direct you. If not, you are left with a mess you created on your own. No man is really wise unless he lives in the will and for the glory of God. ~Geoffrey Grogan~
