Daily Devotion for August 20, 2013 Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised. Hebrews 10:35-36 When I hear the word endurance I usually think of a lot of work, something that takes discipline, a large amount of time is usually involved, sacrifice, constant striving to meet a goal or many goals, training, physical and mental focus. However, after reading these verses today, I realized endurance is a gift and not something to cause us struggle. Endurance is a process of taking one step at a time and continuing forward to meet the goal. The precious gift you receive when you reach that goal can outweigh all the sacrifices made. However, some give up and don’t stick to the plan. Others give up because the struggle is too much to bear. Others may find a different direction then first started. I encourage you seek God and His plan/goals for you. Ask Him for patient endurance as you walk through the paths He has laid before you. Endurance is needed in this relationship with Christ. Not because of Him, but because of all the influence that surround us trying to stop us from reaching the steps needed to grow in Christ. Are you willing to endure? Ask God to provide patient endurance as you walk through this marvelous journey with Him at your side. My endurance prayer is a moment at a time on some days, but God always shows up with His plan and His grace to help me endure. God bless.
