Daily Devotion for September 13, 2013 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:4 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 These Scriptures should provide a reminder of the hope found in the promises of God throughout His precious Word. I have carried a small book title “God’s Promises” for years. It is so worn out that the pages are apart, the cover is shot, and it looks like it is 100 years old. But it still holds God’s promises and they are not worn out. This little book is separated by titles (Prayer, Discouragement, Hope, Integrity, etc.) and each title holds several Scripture references. I have given many of these away throughout the years but it still amazes me how the Word comes alive as you open and begin to read a few Scriptures on a specific subject. Nothing takes the place of the bible, but sometimes we need a little confidence and direction for where to look. You will find every subject, every trial, every decision, every question you have is covered in the God breathed bible. As you open His Word, you can find all the answers you need for this very moment in time. His Word is alive! God bless.
