Daily Devotional: Christ’s Government and Peace Isaiah 9:6-7 “For to us a child is born…and the government will be on his shoulders…Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end…” Hebrews 8:10-11 “I will put my laws in their minds…I will be their God, and they will be my people…they will all know me…” Jesus came to establish a kingdom in the hearts and lives of men and women who would know him - a kingdom where he is king, where peace prevails and where his laws and covenant are followed, a kingdom where people know the king personally and intimately. No longer would there be senseless killing because of ambition, greed, pride and fear. A new kingdom allegiance has been established which supersedes the kingdoms of this world. Christ’s kingdom and peace will increase in influence and impact until the end of time. Jesus, you are my peace. You are my King. I pray for your grace and Spirit’s counsel to live according to your ways and laws today.
