Daily Devotions for Monday October 7th - Revelation 21:1-5 & “God of the City” There is a chorus in this praise song that states, “Greater things are yet to come and greater things are still to be done in this city”. I love the impact of this statement. No matter where we focus our lives in the world, whether it is in Paynesville and the surrounding communities or if we look at a much larger view, God is at work in each city. As we listen to the news about job loss, robberies, shootings and other negative things that are going on in cities large and small around the world we are reminded that “greater things are yet to come”. Rev. 21:1 begins with John recounting an image of a new heaven and a new earth and ends in verse 5 with God saying, “I am making everything new”. We can take comfort in the fact that no matter how dark things look; God is there with “greater things”! Thanks be to God
