Daily Dose of Deborah Saturday, January 3, 2015 Speak up when you feel you have been wronged!! We ALL feel silly , or afraid, or wrong when we have been somehow wrongly treated. I know for me, I ask is it ME? more than I ever even ASSUME its the other person.. (and yes, sometimes, it is 100% absolutely positively ME seeing things differently and results in a misunderstanding...) But sometimes.. NO!! it ISNT me or my fault! Sometimes, people do things that are NOT right and have poor intentions and in those moments. its etremely important to SPEAK UP about it. Every single one of my Daily Dose posts comes from a direct experience that I Have had.. I figure, if I am going through , or have gone through such and such, that means, others have TOOOOO. ANd so I write about it.. to try to share the possible lessons that can be gained .. Todays post was prompted by a terrible encounter in an At&T store in Newburgh. Long story short- the sales person LIED to me. Flat out LIED about programs, and what would be best for me and what would be the cheapest program for my wireless phone service. A part of his LIE included up selling me more data coverage because i was using so much already every month and if i purchase 6 Gigs (i dont even know what a freaking GIG is.. ! But anyway..) I wont ever have to be charged MORE if I go over my usage. What he DIDNT tell me , is that I actually NEVER even COME CLOSE to the 3 Gigs a month plan which is significantly cheaper.. ANDDD the great part of this promotion, is that I also receive a FREE LG Tablet! Woo hoo. I told him, I dont want a tablet. I dont use LG products. and i Have every iPad and ipad mini under the sun. LONGer story short.. He lied. And I got to the bottom of it. And I spoke up. Please use your voice and speak up . I even felt DUMB that I didnt question this persons information when I originally signed up. I assumed it was MY FAULT for NOT being an educated consumer.. But then I thought.. WAIT. Isnt that HIS job to educate me with the PROPER information? Why would I know every last detail of how much data I use per device, etc. I spoke up. And I am not finished. I am on a crusade to stand up for the underdog consumer who DOESNT stand up and speak their mind... or who doesnt even KNOW better to do so! Now, this post comes across negative, and I do not like that..!! This was a part of my day which left me so frustrated and angry. However, When I took matters into my own hands, and empowered myself enough to speak up, it was handled and I feel better. ANyone have similar experiences? I do feel that together,, we all have to remember we have the ability to change the way people do business. 100 voices would be better than just one..
