Daily GK Updates – Current Affairs 07.12.2014 GSAT-16 satellite:India successfully launched its communication satellite GSAT-16 by Arianespace rocket from the spaceport of Kourou in French Guiana. Satellite GSAT-16 built by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). A PJ Abdul Kalam:Former President of India Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam would inaugurate the 17th National Convention on Knowledge, Library and Information networking in Puducherry. Mohammd Hafeez:Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez was suspended by the ICC after his bowling action was found to be illegal in bio-mechanic tests. CBERS-4 satellite:China has successfully launched the CBERS-4 satellite using a Long March-4B rocket. CBERS-4 is jointly developed by China and Brazil. It is the fifth satellite of the Chinese Brazilian Earth Resource Satellite (CBERS) programme which began in 1988. Katinka Hosszu:Hungary’s swimmer Katinka Hosszu won her fourth gold medal of the event and broke the world record in the 200 metres individual medley at the world short-course swimming championships in Dhoa.
