Daily NWS Threat Brief for Monday, July 1, 2013 for FEMA Region 6 Key Points: • Monday o Thunderstorm chances continue over NM & W TX Severe thunderstorms generally not expected, but isolated severe thunderstorms (hail/winds) and/or heavy rain/flooding possible o Fire weather concerns with a chance for isolated dry thunderstorms over extreme west and northwest New Mexico • Tuesday - Wednesday o Very little change in the weather pattern during this time period o Storm chances continue over NM, W TX ; severe chance is low Isolated severe and heavy rain/flooding possible Storms expand into S TX Tue-Wed and into more of W TX and TX/OK panhandles Wed • Thursday - Friday o Storm chances continue over NM, W TX ; severe chance is low o Storms also possible across much of Louisiana and Arkansas, possibly into North TX and Southeast/East TX Heavy rain in Southern Louisiana may lead to flooding Friday and into the weekend • Tropical Outlook o No tropical activity expected for the next few days
