Daily Prayer – September 16, 2014 by tommymcdearis Lord, sometimes life does not go as we had planned. That does not mean it goes badly, but it also does not mean it goes well. It simply goes onward, and regardless of the circumstances, we are reminded that try as we might, we will not control all that occurs. Grant, O Lord, that we would be so faithful as to trust You with the highs and the lows. Help us believe that You do indeed work in all things for good, be they the direct and scenic route we highlighted as we planned our journey, or be they the detour we never expected. Remind us today that Your solemn promise is to travel with us wherever the journey might go, and grant that we would recognize the work of Your ever-present and gracious hand in whatever the day may offer, for it is in Your Name and by Your glory we pray. Amen. “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust Him and I will not be afraid. The Lord himself is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2
