Daily Prayer – September 19, 2014 by tommymcdearis God, I thank you for the opportunity to count for something important. So many wander through life with a seemingly aimless cadence, striving to make a living, yet wondering what is the meaning of it all. Others live daily without thinking of a deeper meaning. Seldom troubled by the questions of purpose, they live a quiet existence of self-focused functioning where much is done, yet little truly matters. Either approach will take one through the day; neither will bring hopefulness or peace. Today, let the people of God be grateful! Ours are neither lives of disharmony nor apathy. Ours are lives of adventure! We are blessed to awaken each day knowing there is a point to life and a purpose in living it. Fill us, O Lord, with great expectations for the possibilities that can be born through our efforts, and help us to envision Your hope as we arise this day to live for the making of something eternally important and unendingly good. In Your name we pray. Amen. “The thief comes to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that you might have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 “My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.” Proverbs 8:18
