Daily Reflection for Mon. 16th September, 2013 The core of St. Paul’s submission in his first letter addressed to Timothy is that we should remember our leaders in civil government in our prayers. Conscious of the political upheaval and uncertainties in Nigeria ought to move one to watch clearly and really pray for Nigeria. The intention of such supplication is that the God-fearing individual may be included in the governmental decision making spheres. Be on the knowing that the heinous and evil political proceedings in the Otta farm call for all the good spirited Nigerians to pulse and pray seriously. It is a share amongst selves. The political cordite reeking out from the cell meetings is so sudorific and it is causing suffocation to any Nigerians wherever one is. Do you know! In a loose world of ours, cheating fellow human beings is riot frowned upon so long as you are not caught at it. Nonetheless, in Nigeria, the adroit political recusants are being caught red-handed and their case is being buried under the carpet. Who dares to ask question? Who will raise up his/her head? A politician in Niger will look you in eye and speak in strong, clear and convincing voice; they are born liars with a pathological compulsion to subvert even a clear truth and tradition. In a sharp contrast especially in the gospel’s legit world, the political leaders seek and consider the legitimacy of the system on the ground. This can be testified by the subjects praying for the good of their civil leaders: “for he loves our nation and he built the synagogue for us” (cf.Lk.7:5). How many of our political juggernauts can be accorded with such beautiful phraseology and heart pouring supplication? We will continue to pray for our civil leaders that God may intervene in our politics and its business in Nigeria. Do not lose hope in praying for a better Nigeria. - See more at: nsukkacatholicdiocese.org/16-09-2013.html
