Daily Stir 3-7-14 “HE GIVES AND MAKES A WAY” John 1:29 says, “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” Sin is the only thing the Lord takes away from us. Job 1:21 says, “The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” This is the only reference in the Bible to the Lord taking away something other than sin. Job later repented for saying this. Job 42:3 & 6 says, “You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know. 6 Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. Romans 11:27 says, “For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.” I John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In John 10:10 Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Someone would say God can do whatever He wants to do. God is a God of truth and integrity and He will never go against His word. Psalm 138:2 says, “For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” If we lose what God blessed us with, we can’t just start claiming God took it away. We allow the devil to come in and take from us because we don’t heed God’s voice, or we just give way to sin. James 1:13-17 says, “When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. 16 Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” God doesnt give then take away.
