Daily Test – Saturday, January 25, 2014 Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I, the Lord, have rebuilt the ruined places, and replanted that which was desolate. Ezekiel 36:36 Jesus prayed, “The glory that you have given me I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17:22-23 Understand the purpose of God as he works in us, among us, and through us. Initially, it appears that God restores our land and rebuilds our churches, so that we may enjoy his presence, Initially, it appears that God builds up our communities of faith so that we may enjoy being one with each other and with God. This is all true, but his ultimate goal is to reach beyond us to those who yet do not know and believe in Jesus. Why do we build or restore and church buildings – to give glory to God; to enhance our experience of worship and community? Yes to both. But ultimately, whatever we do to build up the body of Christ is to create a place where we can effectively invite others to know Jesus. Having been given new and eternal life, we now exist to reach others with the gift we have received. In Christ, Pastor Steve Brown stlukecolumbus
