Daily Trumpet Of The Divine Word Topic: Continue To Pray Because An Outpouring Is Coming. 1 Kings 18:42-45 42 So Ahab went to eat and drink, but Elijah went up to the summit of Carmel. He bowed down on the ground and put his face between his knees. 43 Then he said to his servant, Go up and look toward the sea. So he went up, looked, and said, Theres nothing. Seven times Elijah said, Go back. 44 On the seventh time, he reported, Theres a cloud as small as a mans hand coming from the sea. Then Elijah said, Go and tell Ahab, Get your chariot ready and go down so the rain doesnt stop you. 45 In a little while, the sky grew dark with clouds and wind, and there was a downpour. So Ahab got in his chariot and went to Jezreel. 46 The power of the Lord was on Elijah, and he tucked his mantle under his belt and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. ----------DISCUSSION---------- Prophet Elijah had just brought down fire from heaven and seized all the false prophets of Baal. Any one would have said it is time to take a break, but instead he went to pray whilst King Ahab went to his house to eat and to drink. Look at something, Elijah a prophet of God who did so many awesome miracles prayed and sent his servant to look for the answer to his prayer seven times before there was any visible sign as an answer to his prayer. Sometimes we have been falsely taught that as soon as you pray there should be answer right there waiting for you all the time. Because of this false notion, some Christians are not desirous when it comes to prayer and are discouraged. I am here to tell you that if you pray do not doubt but believe God and do not get discouraged because God is setting up a response and will release them in their time. Even though you pray about the same thing seven times and you only see small cloud as a man’s hand, yet do not be discouraged, but continue to pray, because there will be a heavy outpouring of blessings out of that little cloud that you see. The servant of Elijah did well in that he was able to look at the right place and did not miss the smallest cloud that indicated the answer to his masters prayer. The prophet did what we been told to do in the New Testament watch and pray. If we do not watch when we pray, we can miss those signs that preceed the outpouring of the blessings. When we are able to identify those signs that preceed the answers to our prayers, we position ourselves and better prepared. Missing a sign can be frustrating, because it takes time to reroute. It is just like driving, you have to be mindful of the signs, because once you miss a sign, you add more kilometers to the journey, more minutes or hours to the trip, burning gas, and dont forget the frustration and the possibility of getting a ticket from making a wrong turn or overspending as you try to compensate for the lost time. Also dont be distracted by those who appear to be ahead, because as you pray God is also giving you power and when God is done with you, like Elijah, you will outrun your Ahabs who ride on horses. May Jehovah God help us to pray and be able to identify those signs that preceed the answers to our prayers. Do not loose hope, but be encouraged. May Jehovah God attend to your prayer and answer your cry. Stay focused, be pure, be prayerful and be holy. Hallelujah to the lamb of God!
