Daily excerpt from my book, Why We Are Born Today, we are starting with the new section called: * Grief and its variations * Grief is another emotion that is often disliked and suppressed. Grief is not just about feeling sad. It is a signal that something or someone that is significant to us is lost. It may be the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship or career, or even the loss of a treasured item. When the loss is about the intangible or about things with low monetary value, some people try to ignore their grief, but this is a shallow understanding. Grief is the emotional signal that we need to take time to adjust to the new life without what is lost. Do take sufficient time for grief. Cry. Share your memories of what is lost. Just like taking a rest after physical injury promotes recovery, taking time to grieve promotes recovery.
