Daily life daily occupation. The Israeli occupation in the West - TopicsExpress

Daily life daily occupation. The Israeli occupation in the West Bank is like a strangulation bearing down on all Palestinians and their daily lives, each and every person has a story to tell about what the army or what the Israeli government has done to their families. A typical day volunteering with International Solidarity Movement in Hebron would start with Israeli forces tear gassing children at 8am when they were passing through checkpoints to go to school, sometimes this ended in the arrest of minors. After that we would then assist those Palestinian farmers who are most at risk from settler attack and army harassment. Often when we were on patrol around the old city in the market we would see Palestinian youths being detained by soldiers with the Palestinian ids in their hands they could be detained for up to an hour, sometimes even longer. This is just the tip of the iceberg there are many stories untold. If more international volunteers were in Palestine then we could gauge the full extent of the occupation and its impact on the Palestinians. palsolidarity.org/
