#DailyWord - May 7th- #churchlife Romans 12:3-6...everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them according to the proportion of their faith. ------------ In the local church, we have to see that we are members of one another and not just some faceless entity with an address. The membership of any local church can be illustrated simply with a game of Jenga (tower of stacked blocks). Every missing block weakens the tower, even if it looks stable for a season. Ultimately it will fall if all the blocks dont do their part. Likewise for every block added, the balance is shifted and the tower needs attention. The grace (gift) that each of us have been given comes with a portion of faith to practice that gift that is totally unique for each individual and vital to the growth of the other members. Never be stuck trying to be like another member, even if their function is similar. The grace and faith given to them differs from yours. It is important to be yourself, everyone else is already taken! I love having you as part of our local church. I am a richer disciple of Christ by knowing you and receiving from what God has given you. I pray that each of us find the effortless place of receiving grace and faith to function as God designed us, not dependent on others level of service or a self analysis of our strengths.
