Dairy consumption a major dietary risk factor for prostate - TopicsExpress

Dairy consumption a major dietary risk factor for prostate cancer... We used to think it was just all the hormones in milk, but may be prostate cancer initiation/progression is also promoted by cows milk stimulation of TOR. There is a recent concern that not only androgens, but also estrogens promote prostate. Commercialized milk production by pregnant cows releases uncontrolled amounts of bovine steroids into the human food chain. Our understanding of mammalian milk has changed from a simple food to a species-specific endocrine signaling system, which activates TOR , promotes cell growth and proliferation and suppresses our bodys internal house-cleaning mechanisms... From an evolutionary perspective, it can be concluded that the persistent abuse of the growth-promoting signaling system of bovine by humans over their entire life span maintains the most important hallmark of cancer biology, i.e. sustained proliferative signaling... Moreover, diets emphasizing plants, not only decrease TOR activation, but they provide natural, plant-derived inhibitors of TOR... onions, strawberries, blueberries, mango!
