Position Title: Maintenance Data Specialist Assistant (Temporary – Multiple Positions) Department / Location Engineering / Reliability Engineering Dakota Gasification Company – Beulah, ND Applicable Pay Rate: $21.00/hour Closing Date extended: November 22, 2013 Position Purpose/Job Function: The Maintenance Data Specialist provides Ventyx Asset Suite (CMMS) and Meridium asset data gathering, field verification, and data entry services for the Reliability Engineering, Planning, and Maintenance Engineering departments to help meet the reliability and maintenance needs of the company. This position performs field verification, research and data entering of asset information. This includes, but is not limited to, vendor manuals, spare parts lists and equipment maintenance plans. The information is then compiled, checked for accuracy and entered into the appropriate computer system. This work is done in accordance with established DGC Reliability Engineering Procedures. These positions will report to the Reliability Engineering Supervisor. Necessary Qualifications: Requires completion of a two year program in process plant technology or related field and four years of related industrial experience, or 6 years of related industrial experience. Experience with CMMS systems and/or asset management systems, Ventyx Asset Suite and Meridium is required. Basic process plant knowledge and ability to identify process plant equipment, motors, pumps, turbines, valves, piping, vessels, and instrumentation is required. Must understand the nomenclature for industrial parts and equipment, including familiarity with engineering drawings including P&IDs, piping isometrics, and layout drawings and how equipment is shown and named on these drawings. Must be familiar with Microsoft office suite PC-based applications including Word, Access, and Excel. The incumbent must be self-motivated and results driven, with a strong sense of responsibility. Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands: Requires continuous sitting and use of computer/keyboard, occasional standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, reaching above and below shoulder level, crawling, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, and use of tools. Requires good finger dexterity, ability to perform close work, good hearing and color vision and the ability to speak. Requires the ability to analyze data, conduct research, implement recommendations, develop plans and goals, present information to others and work under pressure of time constraints. Over 50 percent of the day is spent in an office environment. Exposed occasionally to dirt, dust, chemicals, extreme heat and cold, vibration, noise, poor ventilation, electrical risks, confined areas and working at heights up to 400 feet. May also require working in high climbing areas on grating, ladders, or areas requiring the use of safety equipment; and may involve work in confined spaces to inspect and measure boilers, tanks, etc. Equipment operated includes personal computer, plotters, blueline, and copier machines.
