Damn...FB and my internet connection werent cooperating there for a little while. As the countdown to CTMA continues, Cowboy Casanova is up next in my Lorelei James McKay Lovefest. Or as the hubster calls this book Ben(d) Over...LOL! Cowboy Casanova: I must say I really loved the opening scene in this book when Ben was working with the cow but we all know where our minds went to right away. Honestly, I wasnt sure when Ainsley was introduced if I liked her for Ben and there were many moments throughout the book that I still wasnt sure but she won me over when she stood up to Rielle and refused to let her push her around. I was surprised by Bennetts kinky side, it was eluded to in both Strong, Silent Type and Chasin Eight but it did surprise me that he felt he couldnt share that with anyone in his family because lets face it most of the McKay men (and women) enjoy a little kink. I love Ben because he appears to be this really laid back guy and in some respects he is but hes also very observant (kind of like his cousin Kade) and nothing gets past him. I like that he has interests outside of ranching and while he sees that ranch as his legacy; he continues to pursue other interests making him a very well rounded guy. Ainsley was kind of a mess and I do understand her concerns and they did get into some sticky situations but once she was with Bennett there was no doubt they were perfect for each other. One of the things I most admired about this couple was they didnt feel the need to reproduce to keep up with the family, it was a choice they both made and one that many couples now days are choosing to make so I thought it was appropriate for them. Most of all I loved how the siblings on this side of the family seemed to come together in this book and that really made my heart happy. I also really loved the burgeoning friendship between Ainsley and Dr. Monroe...personally I think theres a little foreshadowing in their relationship as I think theres a whole lot more to Dr. Monroe than meets the eye! Memorable scenes: When Dalton calls of his brothers to stage an intervention for his abusive behavior and they all get a big laugh out of it embarrassing the crap out of Dalton. Bennetts heart to heart with Vi where he wonders if thats where he gets his dominant tendencies from...yeah, I really loved that scene. The scene where Gavin plays big brother and tells Ben to follow the advice he gave their brothers and man up. Pivotal scene because its the first time Gavin refers to them as his brothers .
