Damn...ok, once again the wheels of fortune have spun and we get the bonus package. Gabriellas counts didnt rise yesterday or today. In fact, they dipped lower. Sooooo...we are here for another day at a minimum. Heres the deal: She has NOT recd any chemo for two weeks, her counts have not bumped up and she caught a fever during all this. The Drs are concerned about about her bone marrow. Yes it responded accordingly, but why is it not recouping? Is it just beat up or is something else going on. We have been invited to stay another day at UNM. Dr wants to see an ANC of 200 or better tomorrow, shes currently at 128. If the 200+ number comes...we are out of here!! If not...she will be pulled off the antibiotics in order to determine if they are the culprit for the subdued ANC. If they are...great! If not, then she will get another bone marrow aspiration on Thurs. That bone marrow aspiration will ensure the Drs that the cancer is NOT back in the marrow gumming up the works, but yet to appear in the bloodstream. Her appetite is strong and her appearance is as well. The video of her running around the halls of the Peds Unit is an accurate visual of her attitude. All external factors are positive. The Dr even went as far as to say that Gabriella is a VERY TOUGH LITTLE GIRL. The Dr wants this mystery solved before we get out the door. Cant argue with that..but still, my brain is in hyper-overdrive at all the possibilities. An ANC of 200+ is the goal..
