Damn you Robin Williams... 10... 15 times in the last 24 hours Ive found water just leaking from my eyes. What a profound effect youve had had on us. You are in our dna. The whole world knows your name. We cannot fathom your financial pressures or the weight of celebrity or the depths of the darkness youve been battling but for all of us with close friends or relatives battling depression it feels like... if he succumbed to it... what chance does anyone have. Please dont let this be another celebrity death that gets rinsed away with the 48 hour news cycle but let this be a clarion call to arms, to really raise awareness and hopefully let it be a call to action to each of us to open our hearts and minds to this real disease called depression. One of my closest friends in the world (and a friend to many of my friends on here) is deep and dark right now and frankly has cut off all communication with me for 3 months after 23 years of friendship and this last year of me being an on-call friend/therapist anytime of the day or night. This Robin thing has shaken me and I cant get my friend out of my thoughts. Its quite scary!
