Damon L. Fordham added 4 new photos. 1 hr · Edited · Just got in from the Charleston march on the recent verdicts and unjust violence. Much love and respect for my city on how it was all handled. Local leaders Pastor Thomas Dixon (1st picture on the right) and Christopher Poppa Cason did an excellent job of keeping order and discipline as well as communicating with the Charleston police. Speaking of which, the CPD was very cooperative during the whole affair while handling march traffic through the city. Roughly 3-400 people showed up with a wide diversity of races, ages, and social backgrounds. As I said in my remarks (and thanks to Thetyka O. Robinson for taking this picture), Since these events happened, many people have done what Dr. King warned against, Drink from the cup of bitterness and wallow through the valley of despair. But when we see so many people of different backgrounds and different races and ages come together in peace for such a constructive cause, it is a reminder that where theres life, theres hope.
