Dan "Boone" FAULKNER Died: 09/17/2013 Visitation: Friday September 20, 2013 from 5-7pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home Funeral Service: Friday Sept 20th at 7pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home Interment: Graveside service Saturday at 11am at Cumberland Memorial Gardens Dan "Boone" Faulkner entered the world on May 29, 1942 in Corbin, Kentucky. On September 17, 2013 after 71 long years of life, he passed away peacefully in his home while surrounded by his most treasured loved ones. Throughout his life he served his Lord, his family, and his country honorably. He was a faithful member of the West Corbin Baptist Church for 30years. Boone was preceded in death by his Parents, Claud Faulkner and Nora Holt; Brothers, Vernon, Elijah, and Aaron Pola Faulkner and by one Sister, Willa Dean Thomaston. He is survived by his loving Wife, Phyllis Gibson Faulkner; Sons, Danny Faulkner and wife Barbara Sue of Corbin; Johnny Faulkner of Keavy; Daughters, Rhonda Faulkner Hampton and husband Earnie of London and Renee Philpot and husband Rodnie of Richmond; Brothers, Ronald Faulkner and wife Alice of Corbin and K.B. Faulkner of Stanwood, WA; seven grandchildren, Kevin Faulkner, Christina Faulkner Hill and husband Glen of Corbin; Jimmie Hampton of London; Lindsay Brown and fiancé Derek Perkins of Corbin; Danniele Philpot of London; Cheyanne and Kendra Philpot of Richmond; three great grandchildren, Makayla Faulkner, Kenny and Autumn Hill; four very special Sisters-in-law, Glenna Coffey of Corbin, Eula Faye Simmons and husband Robert of Tazwell, TN, Ivy Gibson Moses and husband "Mo" and Phyllis Faulkner of Saraland, AL; as well as by a host of other family and friends, all who will continue to rejoice in his memory. His family will receive friends for visitation on Friday September 20, 2013 from 5pm until the time of his funeral service at 7pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Howell and Rev. Sam Smith officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday Sept. 21st at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, with military honors by the American Legion Post #88 in Corbin.
