Dan Carter looks to make a comeback against the USA - the sponsors - TopicsExpress

Dan Carter looks to make a comeback against the USA - the sponsors (AIG) would expect that - but I for one dont see him a s a shoe-in for the future. If (and thats possibly a big if) he can rediscover his form and stay injury free (probably a bigger question) it will be his for sure. Time will tell. I back his class but wonder about the body. One things for certain - the battle for the 10 jersey will be compelling. Dan Carter is optimistic of making his All Black comeback against the USA in Chicago next weekend after recovering from a broken leg. The all-time record points scorer in international rugby has not featured for New Zealand since last November, having broken his leg in the final of Super Rugby and struggled to recover since. In fact he has only played 40 minutes of rugby since that injury, but after being selected for the November tour, he is aiming to be a part of the games against the Eagles at Soldier Field. Ive got the confidence of the medical staff and earned the confidence of the selectors to pick me, Carter told ONE News. Its a frustrating injury. A bit of nerve damage around the fracture site. Thats the plan (to return in Chicago). Im preparing to play that game. Thats what Im targeting. It could have happened to anybody. It was a direct blow. Meanwhile prop Charlie Faumuina has stayed behind for a day longer than the rest of his New Zealand colleagues as he deals with a personal matter.
