Dan Joy C E asked: "I have a family member going through chemotherapy. Any nutritional suggestions for staying healthy during a harsh process like that?" Thanks for your question Dan. While going through chemotherapy, it is important to increase nutritional care as well as complimentary mind and body therapies. Staying hydrated and maintaining calorie and nutrient intake can help boost the immune system and minimize debilitating side effects. During treatment, it is important to focus on whole foods, a variety of organic fruits and vegetables, avoiding fats, processed foods, refined sugar and dairy. Foods that support the regeneration of healthy tissue are foods rich in antioxidants such as berries, broccoli, garlic, green tea, spinach and kale. I would also suggest keeping a food and symptom diary. Tell your relative to write down what they eat and drink, and recording any symptoms they experience daily. Doing this can help them identify what may be causing nausea or elimination problems. Best wishes, Morgan
