Dan figures we rode about 120-140 klicks on the dirt roads that are being carved out in the territory..what a bittersweet trip it turned out to be.pany was great..saw two good looking young black bear and plenty of medicine pretty much everywhere..picked blueberries and muskeg tea..would definitely love to go for more..though ya.its almost too late..last minute picking of rosehips too. The valleys are gorgeous!! It truly is a paradise..Though, the destruction with logging, gas n oil industries going full out..there are many browned dead zones..no sign of Life on the cut blocks..squirrels..marten..mink..lynx..weasels..and all the others displaced..the entire habitat mowed down for absolutely NO benefit whatsoever to natural Life while the very real threat to the waters is also everywhere. The security system out there is run by a native run corporation that have named themselves the Asinewuche Winewak Nation Of Canada..though are set up using the infrastracture of foreign policies WHICH I know puts them in the precarious situation of being subordinates with the ILLUSION of holding traditional rights and practices for the time being..I spose many will realize where their allegiance truly lies by the Interests they uphold now though will be held to in the end..at the very beginning of their establishing themselves as AWN..my grandfather had said namoi kote kespahhoono ..we wont follow that way..I am thankful for his wisdom and pray this vast and very much still pristine medicine panhandle is protected from the corrupt who are seeking its destruction for money.
