The song became Sylvesters first Top 40 hit in the US, where it peaked at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the fall of 1978; it also reached #29 on the UK Singles Chart.The song appears on his 1978 album, Step II. A 12 single was released in 1978, with Dance (Disco Heat) as the A-side and You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) as the B-side, and these two extended dance mixes proved to be very popular in the dance clubs at the time.
