Dandeli-Anshi one among the five tiger reserves in Karnataka is a part of 2500 Sq Km of crucial wildlife corridor sharing its border with the protected areas of goa and karnataka. The wildlife here was nearly wiped out in the 90s due to hydro electric projects,forest clearances,highways,poaching etc. There were the days when it was difficult to sight even a single chital if we roam for one week. But recently due to the sincere efforts by forest department the forests here are getting good protection. The wildlife here is now slowly recovering and day by day we are getting good signs of predators along with frequent sightings of prey animals.
