Dangerous Trend : To counter MRAs claim of more than 90% dowry cases turning out to be false, courts now appear to have started routinely convicting husbands . Dont have data, but have recently observed several 498a cases decided by Chandigarh and Haryana courts leading to conviction, merely on statements of women and their parents.More seriously, some sessions courts are also confirming the convictions of adamant husbands.One friend had to run up to SC for acquittal in simple case..... I do not intend to scare or discourage our members. But it appears we need to change strategies. Over-emphasis on the sole point of low conviction rate may no more be as helpful as it used to be.
