Dangerous devotional thought on this Thanksgiving mornn: After over 35 years of reading and studying and writing on the Bible, I am more convinced that, although each believer is to listen to it and obey, it is too the leadership that it is written, to the leadership its words are directed. From Genesis to Revelation, the church leadership is called to listen well and not be poor readers, to fully understand that they will be judged double for leading those they lead either toward or away from the Word. In the OT the leadership is the primary cause for exile, the awful and highest form of curse for the people of Israel. In the NT the leadership is challenged to not repeat the sins of OT leadership. Woe, to leaders who do not have ears to hear; let the leaders who have ears to hear, learn to hear.
