Daniel Lazcano is a free man. The trial in Whitman County Superior Court of the 22-year-old ended in a hung jury yesterday. Lazcano has been tried twice now for the murder of Marcus Schur in December 2011. Neither jury could agree he was guilty of shooting Schur to death. Judge David Frazier released Lazcano on his own recognizance after 15 months in jail. Frazier warned Lazcano not to leave the area until Whitman County Prosecutor Denis Tracy decides whether or not to have a third trial.
