Daniel Sam: There are really some ppl out there who truely believe that the CPF money belongs to them. Heres a shocker for those who dont know. While trying to help my GF get her PR, I came across a rather interesting fact about how our corrupt government tries to keep our CPF money. If you took the time to read the article above (both page 1 and 2), it says that the money (which belongs to you) you took out as a loan will have accrued interest, And we are to pay for the interest the Swines lost during the absence of our own money. The analogy given is that, we take the money out from our piggy banks and we have to pay interest to ourselves for taking what is ours. So this point here is the same for people who wanna give up their citizenship (i.e Me.). In the event that (for whatever reason that is truly beyond my grasp) should they want to return back to Singapore, they must return back what amount of CPF money taken out PLUS interest! Also, I believe with the changes made to the CPF withdrawal system, PRs now cannot draw full amount as and when they give up their PR status. Like us, they have to wait till 55. Anyways, Canada looks like a nice place to settle down. Dont you think? =]
